Dining

The historic capital of Burgundy, Dijon is about 20 minutes by train from Auxonne and is a must-visit destination for lovers of traditional cuisine. Under the covered market halls and in typical bistros, you can enjoy Dijon mustard, beef bourguignon, snails, eggs in meurette sauce and artisanal gingerbread. Beaune and Dole complete the culinary journey with their gourmet restaurants, ranging from family-run inns to fine dining establishments. From Camping de l’Arquebuse, it is easy to plan a “gourmet stay near Dijon” by combining a city visit, a good restaurant and a peaceful return to the banks of the Saône.

Vineyards

Less than one hour from the campsite, Beaune is at the heart of the famous Route des Grands Crus, which runs from Dijon to Santenay through prestigious villages such as Pommard, Meursault and Volnay. Vaulted cellars, family estates and renowned wine houses offer guided tastings to discover the great wines of Burgundy. Towards Dole and the first Jura plateau, the Jura vineyards reveal another range of flavours: Côtes du Jura, vin jaune and vin de paille, with intense and distinctive aromas. Staying at Camping de l’Arquebuse means choosing the ideal starting point to explore these two complementary wine regions, by car, bicycle or train.

You will find regional charcuterie, honey, seasonal fruit and vegetables, as well as the region’s emblematic cheeses, including Comté AOP from the Jura fruitières, such as the Fruitière de Chevigny near the Dole area. Thanks to fast regional TER train connections from Auxonne station (around 20 minutes to Dijon, 8 minutes to Dole and less than one hour to Beaune via Dijon), it is easy to explore these markets without a car, for a gourmet stay focused on sustainable travel.
